Man, just tried out that shiny new McDonald’s off 380 in Frisco, and honestly, I’m still shaking my head. Pulled in thinking fresh location means smooth sailing nah. Parking? Forget about it. Barely a handful of spots, all reserved for folks who order online. Inside, it’s all robots and screens. Kiosks everywhere screaming at you to tap-tap-tap. No cash register, seriously they are acting like money’s extinct. Staff? Ghosts. Place is dead quiet except for the beeps. Mobile order app’s the only way, but good luck customizing without errors. Grabbed my bag, hungry as heck, only to hunt for napkins like they’re gold bars. Ketchup? Mustard? Mayo? Nada. Had to flag down some kid who looked twelve, and even he seemed lost. Drink refills are a joke wait at the empty counter forever till someone materializes. Fries were cold anyway. Look, it’s clean, sure, but who wants a sterile fast food temple? Feels like ordering from a vending machine, not grabbing dinner. If this is McD’s future, count me out. Stick to the old spots where at least humans breathe. One star, barely

Michelle, who appeared to be in a leadership role based on her uniform, was very kind, friendly, and genuinely helpful 🙂👏. Interactions like that still matter and made this visit better than it could have been. That said, the design and layout of this newer McDonald’s is extremely off-putting 😕. It’s nearly identical to the locations in Farmersville and Princeton, TX — and not in a good way. 🚫 Unmanned registers 🚫 No greeting when you walk in 🚫 No clear way to get help To even be noticed by an employee, you often have to step behind the registers just to be seen 😬. The self-checkout kiosks do accept cash and coins (which is good 💵), but everything else — refills, ketchup, napkins, straws, salt, sauces — requires flagging down an employee 👀✋. When I asked Michelle why newer McDonald’s no longer have drink fountains for refills, she explained that ownership wants employees to serve customers directly — even for something as small as ice 🧊. The problem is… you can’t find anyone when you need them. At this location, the team is at least trying 👍. But at the Princeton, TX store, employees will make eye contact and walk right past you without helping — which makes this system even more frustrating. I also watched another customer spend a long time trying to get someone’s attention, standing awkwardly between the registers and counter just to be helped 😐. That shouldn’t be necessary. There’s also no PlayPlace here 🧸❌, and it’s clear that newer McDonald’s designs prioritize the drive-thru 🚗💨 while neglecting the lobby experience entirely. If the goal is “service-focused,” then someone needs to be at the counter at all times. You can’t remove access to everything and remove staff visibility — that’s not service, that’s just poor management.

Worst run McDonald’s. Ordered curbside pickup. No one came to my spot. Had to go inside, wait another fifteen minutes to get an incomplete and tampered with burger. Was supposed to be a triple patty and they gave me none. The general manager is also accused of stealing identities online. Just look on Reddit. Sketchy employees. Do not shop at this McDonald’s. Worst in the country!

My family came for a quick lunch as my daughter wanted a happy meal. This place does not let you order at the counter, only at a kiosk which causes issues when you have specific things you want on your such as we wanted well done nuggets. There is no option on the kiosk so you have to wait and wait and wait til someone comes to the front to help. Then we needed ketchup and the ketchup dispenser was empty. So I had to go to the front and wait and wait and wait for ketchup. Then they forgot my daughters apple slices, so I had to go to the front and wait and wait and wait for them. Then I went to take my daughter to the bathroom. There was only 1 stall in the men's room and it was DISGUSTING, toilet paper all over the seat and in the toilet with unflushed or clogged feces in it. I had to have my wife bring my daughter to the ladies restroom. The women's room had no running water! So I had to bring my daughter back to the men's room to wash her hands. The real question is how do the employees wash their hands after using the restroom? The one good thing was the food was hot. Worst McDonalds I've been to outside of that!

20 minutes to get my order when dining in. I initially waited for a human to ask if a special order could be made; after staring at me for several seconds she just shook her head no and pointed to the kiosk. At the kiosk I easily modified my order to the special request that I was previously told couldn't be done. After waiting nearly 20 minutes, I was told that they were waiting on drinks, then told they were waiting on food. Claimed there was no staff shortage, but that the people in the kitchen were "new". Everything finally showed up... And actually was hot and tasty... Until I got to the bone fragment in the chicken nugget. Otherwise, on the atmosphere... No human in sight without waiting for someone to bring an order to the front. No napkin or condiment dispensers. And no drink fountain - getting a refill meant waiting again for a human to appear at the front, then disappear with my cup back to the kitchen. Perhaps just CLOSE the dining room if you can't offer dine-in service. I realize this is McDonalds and poor service & quality should be expected, but it's ironic that I actually got better service (from a human) at Walmart before coming here. Do better.
